MEET GWAPA GAL: ADRIANE HAWTHORNE

Ponnopozz is the studio of Chicago-based artist Adrianne Hawthorne. Adrianne comes from a graphic design background but prefers the act of making art with her own hands. She initially felt uneasy putting so much of herself out into the world, but has since felt a satisfaction that she never found in corporate America. Ponnopozz is named after two imaginary friends, Ponno and Pozzer, that the artist had as a child. The name is a daily reminder of the unbridled creativity of childhood that she continues to nurture through the act of painting and drawing.

MEET GWAPA GAL: MIRIAM ARIAS

Hi! I’m Miriam, creator, designer and maker behind Terra Arte. As a landscape architect by day, my designs are inspired by the curves and movement of land; the style is architecturally driven with a soft and dreamy twist to it. Terra Arte earrings are about self-expression and playfulness- they are referred to as objects because they are pieces of art you and I get to wear! I design and make objects that I want to wear and want to have in my home. My desire is for these objects to bring you as much joy as they bring me. Terra Arte is a Latina-owned small business based in Oakland, California.

Our hope is to create a diverse line of products that will serve a purpose in your life, and bring value to your every day -- whether it be an art print on your wall that brings a bit of extra joy to your space, or a planner that helps you organize your life.

MEET GWAPA GAL: TAYLOR

My name is Taylor Feltner, I am 23 years old and I am from Cincinnati, OH. I am the owner of Solely Sisterhood, a Feminist based shop that carries fleece crewnecks, tees, reusable bags, glass mugs, notepads, banners, and stickers and magnets. We are going to be starting a subscription box service soon and the first box to go out will include our manifestation collection!

I started Solely Sisterhood in the Spring of 2019 and opened our online shop on February 28th of 2020. I knew I always wanted to do something creative like own my own shop, but I wanted there to be purpose and passion behind it. I didn't know much about feminism until the Me too Movement really came about, but was instantly inspired by the women a part of this community. I was so inspired that I realized I could make a business out of this passion for Feminism. As Solely Sisterhood grows I plan on having two philanthropies one for women and one for animals, still unsure of what organizations I will choose to work with. My favorite women in Hollywood who have taught me a lot these past years are Taylor Swift, Sophia Bush, and Selena Gomez. The things I care about most are Feminism, animals, traveling and my family.
